Pop singer Britney Spears added a new song to her Las Vegas show "Piece of Me" on Wednesday night (Feb. 12). She performed "Alien" for the first time ever in Planet Hollywood's The AXIS theater.

Spears wrote "Alien" with Madonna "Ray of Light" producer William Orbit along with Dan Traynor, Ana Diaz and Anthony Preston. The gorgeous electronic track about loneliness before finding love is an absolute highlight on Spears' latest album "Britney Jean."

In the E! documentary "I Am Britney Jean," Spears said "Alien" was a song that was near and dear to her heart. She was set to include the track in her "Britney: Piece of Me" setlist but decided to add it on during later shows. Britney finally performed "Alien" for the first time on Feb. 12.

After sexing up the The AXIS theater with "Freakshow," Spears usually does a wild chair routine with her quirky single "Do Somethin'." In place of the aforementioned track, she sat on stool and performed "Alien." The currently brunette singer looked like a storyteller in the center of the stage. Britney later got up to work the catwalk. It was a simple but sweet performance of a song means a lot to Spears and her fans.

Time will tell if Spears' "Alien" performance was just a one-off thing for Feb. 12 or if it will take the place of "Do Somethin'" for the rest of her Las Vegas run.

On a related note, Spears also said during "I Am Britney Jean" that "Alien" would likely be a single when she performed it. With official remixes out of the will.i.am-assisted "It Should Be Easy" and the naughty club banger "Tik Tik Boom" featuring T.I., there is a lot of speculation over what will be the third single from "Britney Jean." "Easy" and the bonus cut "Now That I Found You" were recently uploaded to Britney's official VEVO account as well, adding more fuel to the fire. Hopefully Spears keeps her word and goes with "Alien" in the end.

Spears' album "Britney Jean" was released on Dec. 3. Tickets for her Las Vegas show "Britney: Piece of Me" are now sale.
